Why we made it Since the introduction of the original SES 3.4, we’ve implemented new design concepts across the SES lineup that result in a faster wheel and improved ride experience. The SES 3.4 features road tubeless compatibility, 25mm tire optimization, molded carbon brake track technology, and optimized SES aero rim shaping to ensure maximum efficiencies for a shallow aero wheel. Equally at home in the mountains as in the valleys, the SES 3.4 is the most versatile Smart ENVE System aero wheel. Like all SES wheel models, the SES 3.4 features dissimilar rim shapes and geometries between the front and back wheels to maximize aerodynamic efficiency and rideability in variable wind and weather conditions. The front rim is 38mm deep and shallower than the rear rim to aid in crosswind stability while rear rim is 42mm deep and therefore improves overall airflow. For riding in mountainous terrain where heavy braking is required, the SES 3.4 features a high-temperature-resistant resin system and ENVE's molded-in brake track technology to ensure rim integrity and precision braking when and where it is needed most.

Full Details Rebellious, unconventional, and pioneering are words that describe the one-of-its-kind SES 4.5 AR Disc. Conceptualized for the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix through our partnership with Team Dimension Data, the SES 4.5 AR Disc was developed to deliver top-shelf aero performance, stability, and comfort for virtually any road surface. The SES 4.5 AR Disc borrows from ENVE's M Series carbon mountain wheel tubeless technology and features hookless beads. Hookless beads improve aerodynamic performance by aiding airflow from tire to rim as well as allow for the best tubeless tire performance possible. Like all Smart ENVE System aero wheels, the front and rear rims are specifically designed for the airflow seen at the front and back of the bike. As such, the front rim is shallower and wider to maximize stability in crosswinds, while the rear is deeper and narrower to aid in drag reduction. In addition to dissimilar geometries, the SES 4.5 AR Disc features a disc brake-specific construction that saves weight, improves strength, and creates an unprecedented ride quality.

What It Is The ultimate disc brake-specific, aerodynamic, lightweight road race wheelset. Who It's For The SES 5.6 Disc is optimized aerodynamically and structurally for disc use. Road cyclists and triathletes on disc brake bikes will benefit from the SES 5.6 Disc's reduced drag, lightweight design, and rim shape optimized for larger-volume road tires. Why We Made It Most "disc brake" wheelsets are simply repurposed rim brake wheels with disc hubs. The elimination of a braking surface opens up the realm of aerodynamic and structural possibilities. When you don't have to engineer a flat braking surface and manage high temperatures from braking, you can reduce the rim's weight, adjust shape for improved aerodynamics and provide better tubeless performance. Full Details Disc brake technology offers improved braking performance for amateur and professional road cyclists alike. Carbon fiber braking surfaces are a major design constraint that limits weight savings and rim design. By removing the constraints of a braking surface, we can completely rethink the shape of the rim. The SES 5.6 Disc features patented SES rim curvature, but has been further optimized for disc brakes. Additionally, the SES 5.6 Disc carbon fiber clinchers and tubulars are very lightweight, because the material used for rim brake heat management has been eliminated. This allows for a more structurally efficient and impact-resistant rim. Finally, the SES 5.6 Disc carbon clincher is road tubeless-compatible and can still be run with standard inner tubes and tires. Like the current generation SES carbon clinchers and tubulars, the 5.6 Disc has been aerodynamically optimized around 25mm tires.
